The Big Day!!

Well after 7 months and 3 days the biggest day of our lives (thus far) finally happened. On June 18, 2010 Andrew and I were finally married.

The week was amazing. The wedding was in Midland Texas and we were surrounded and loved on by so many different people. In all my life I have never felt so much love and support from so many people. I so desperately wish that there could be a wedding in each family every year. This was a time of joy and worship. It was wonderful having our families join together as we joined in marriage.

The wedding was officiated by one of Andrew's dearest friends Jeff Berg. He is the youth pastor at our church, Grace Community. I'm not going to lie... I was hesitant. I had never heard Jeff do a wedding before, not that I’m picky at all... however, I only get ONE wedding. Jeff did not let me down at all. He did a beautiful job! He represented both Andrew and I perfectly by his words, actions and attitude. He was silly when silly was needed and he was serious when serious was needed. Most of all he reflected the truth about marriage that is found in the Bible. He spoke about how women was fashioned out of man to be his perfect mate; just as Christ fashioned man to be perfect for His ministry, it was beautiful.

The wedding was over before I knew it... we got to eat our beloved "one bite of cake," and visit with many (but unfortunately not all) of our sweet guests, and before I knew it we were walking out the door to start our lives together as "man and wife!"

Our honeymoon was wonderful. We went to San Diego from Sunday to Saturday and loved every minute of it. Sure, there were some awkward times... there were some silly times... there were some sweet times and even some sad times. However, it was the best week ever!! When we headed home it was a bitter sweet feeling. We were ready to head into the reality of marriage however, we knew that life would never again be as easy or fun as it was for this one week of time.

Now we are here in Bartlesville Oklahoma. I work for Voice of the Martyrs. This is an organization that is the voice for the persecuted church. (www.persecution.com) Andrew is a personal trainer at Conoco Phillips and we are loving every minute of this new life we have started. We have been married a whole month (or only a month) and we have had our share of highs and lows, good times and bad times, sad days and happy days and we are ready for many more!! God is challenging us daily to be better for one another and it has been very encouraging to love each other as we grow through these changes.

Well that is it for now...
