But here are some of the things I have learned over about marriage...
- Its not about being right or wrong... its about coming to an agreement.
- What worked when you were single... doesn't work now.
- When change happens, so does chaos.
- We will rarely have the same ideas about something... and his ideas might be better than mine...
- Quality time looks different for everyone
- Fully depend on God... not my husband. My husband is human and will let me down... God wont.
- Its never too late to say "I'm sorry!" but ONLY say it if you mean it.
- Sometimes the best times are the unplanned times
- TRUST your husband... he really does want what is best for me.
- Surround yourselves with family and friends who love the Lord... and will keep you on that track.
- Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh... find a reason to laugh together
- Know each others buttons... and avoid them.
- Homecooked meals always taste better when a good conversation is taking place.
- Submission is not about being walked over... its about RESPECTING my husbands plans.
- Its ok to be right, and to stand up for what I feel... if it is done respectfuly
- Be spontaneous when you can... it adds to the fun.
- Don't start a fight right before bed... it makes for a horrible nights sleep.
- Brag about your husband... others need to know he is wonderful!!
- ALWAYS communicate! Never stop! Always talk about what the next step is and how you are feeling about the process. If you keep it bottled up ... you will explode over something stupid.
- Find time together as often as you can... even if it means turning off the phone, saying no to friends, skipping small group, or running away from town for the day or weekend.
